Why does everyone like the Twilight series?!

Question: Why does everyone like the Twilight series!?
Stephenie brings nothing new to the game of vampires vs!. werewolves!. NOTHING! i found it digestible, yet something I’d read and think nothing more of it!. I’m so sick of people screaming, "omg, Edward!" when not only is 'Edward' a horrid, cheesy name but it's also the crapiest name u could possibly give a vampire!. Bella is!.!.!.someone I didn’t fall in love with!. The character shared no similarities with me, the reader!. I also found the scene in book 2[I think], when they where playing baseball, to be random and 'blah'!. Why do people like the Twilight series so much!? I mean!.!.!.why!!?!

*pist* why would an old *** vampire need to go to school, when he's gathered data from hundreds of years!. and if he wants to gather info on 21st century behavior, or whatever, he can just turn on the TV!.

-I Am 14 and hope to also become an author!. I Know more of the World of Darkness saga then the producers probably do!. I just want to say, "I love anything-besides Twilight- that’s supernatural!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know why people like it so much, but it works to my favor People used to call me a freak for even thinking about vampires, now I'm treated normally!. Children can be so cruel!.
Anyway, the "OMG EDWARD!!!" thing gets on my nerves too since the girls at my school scream that every four seconds!. "Edward" was a popular name years ago (Who names their kid "Edward" anymore!?) Bella is supposed to relate to the average teenage girl, though it seems to be more of a stereotype even though the book was written by a woman!. They probably like it so much because they have nothing else to do with their free time!. That's how I am with the books in my library!.
And truthfully, they don't need to go to school, it's just to make them appear "normal" it is still illegal not to have children "or those that appear to be children" going to school!. They could be homeschooled, but there would be no proof that their actually getting an education!.

"I truthfully don't care what it is, as long as I can read it," This includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, and Language books!. (Does not include textbooks) I'm an inspiring fanfiction Author!. And I hope to become an actual author when I get older!. My parents and friends think I should go for it, but I want a sure way to make money, like law-school or something!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'll admit, I enjoyed the series, and plan to see the movie, but I have major problems with Stephenie!. She stole 99% of her work from other places and just did a great job of pasting it all together!. For example, the whole story has definite Roswell overtones, if you've ever seen that show, and if you have read her "playlists" she made them BEFOREhand, and got a lot of her scenes from the songs!. Not inspiration, but word-for-word!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

We all have our different opinions on things!.
i respect yours, but i still enjoy the series!.
I agree with some of the things you are saying but let other people like what they want!.
That is just your thought, not everybody is going to agree!.
I like it, but I'm not obsessed!.

If you write a book and it gets published I'm sure some people will have their different opinions on that too!.
get over it!.

I am also 14 and i seriously don't get why ppl is going gaga about this series!.!.!.
i only got through the first 10 pages and i had to stop!.
my friends asked me if i liked it, and when i answered no, they said that i was the only person they know that didn't like it!.!.!.well, thats my opinion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

whats not to like about a book with a mary sue girl falling in love with a vampire that has unpredictable mood swings and sparkles in the sun!? *gags* they like how everything ends so perfectly: "oh i'm in trouble so Edward shall save me!!"Www@Enter-QA@Com

How about somthing from a guy's POV!?

Vampires and Werewolves are what is popular now!.!.!. People like to be entertained by things they don't understand!. It's been Vampires vs!. Werewolves for years, and now that somthing based on that is now popular (with a real cliche love story thrown in), people are going nuts for it!. I hear girls in my neighborhood go nuts on me when I say "It's not original"!. Because it isn't!. Since they don't read outside of what's popular they're completely unaware of other books like that!.

The basic idea of this "teen magic" fad that has been going on for the last!.!.!. lets say 10 years started with Harry Potter (which is a great, original book)!. But with that, people were greatly entertained by the idea that some normal person could have a mysterious, and mystical past!. And by now, it's been written to death!. It's grown to include the ancient rivalry of Vampires and werewolves!.

I had some girl call me "Edward" because I was pale!. I had hardley read the book so my first thought was "Wait!.!.!. Edward Elric!?" And I said this out loud!. She corrected me by say that he's from Twilight!. A gave a disapproving look, and continued what I was doing!.

Side note, I'm 16!. And read alot!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Edward is named Edward because it was a popular name in 1901 and he was not originally a vampire, he was human!. So, that's the answer to question #1!.

The point of the baseball scene I think was Stephanie's way of demonstrating the strength of vampires and she needed a way of bringing in James and Victoria and the other vampires from the other coven!. (Book 2 was not one of my favorites either)

It's all a matter of opinion honey!.There's nothing wrong with liking it (I like it a lot, personally), it's just that some people blow it out of proportion and say that it's "The best ever!" when in all actuality: It isn't!. I've read better books, that's for sure (and I don't mean other vampire books)!. Compare some of the twilight fans to that of Naruto fans!.
They overrate it so that people either are obsessed with it or can't stand it because they hear about it all the time (I can't stand to hear about Naruto anymore, for example)!.

You bring up a good point about Edward going to school if he's 100 yrs or so old!. Well, if you went up to a "17 year old" boy and asked him where he went to school and he said "I don't go to school", that wouldn't be the greatest conversation!.

Glad to hear you're an aspiring author, I'm one myself (more into historical fiction and mild fantasy, personally), but while you don't have to like Twilight by any means, I just thought I'd seriously and thoroughly answer your question about why other people do:

Some people just like sexy, strong vampires and werewolves who would die for the one they love (Which I will admit is a bit cheesy)!. That's basically the surface of it!.

But you are completely right to say that it's by no means "The greatest series ever!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

Haha!. Yeah I definatly agree with you!.

I hated the book!. I hated how they kept saying they loved eachother!. Um, co-dependant much!? WE GET IT, YOU LIKE EACHOTHER, MOVE ON PLEASE!.

Overall I thought the book was hideously cliche!. Supernatural thing falls in love with human but they can't be together because it's too dangerous!. Where have I heard that before!? IN EVERY SINGLE BOOK EVER WRITTEN MAYBE!?

I find it so pathetic how they cant go two minutes without eachother!. The whole book is pretty much just physical descriptions anyways!. If I hear one more line about Edwards copper hair and huge muscles I'm going to put a hamster in the dishwasher!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
