Well for one the wound he received from stabbing himself wasn't that serious enough to cause him to die!. It was really meant for Ukon to get out of Kiba's body,(which he did),but Kiba's original plan was to kill himself along with Ukon,however he didn't had had just given himself a serous wound as well as possibly not hitting a vital organ!. also afterwords when Kiba escapes from Ukon we see Kiba's making medican or an ointment out of herbs were he is resting and uses to help heal his revived wound!.

Well usually, one wound isn't able to kill anyone, nonetheless the awesome Naruto characters who probably have a better system and pain tolerance than we do!.
Kiba was smart enough to realize that because Ukon, Sakon's twin was inside of him, if he stabbed himself, Ukon would feel the effects as well!.
After he escapes however, Kiba can be seen crushing the plants/herbs and making them into like a healing ointment putting it on Akamaru and himself!.
Later on though, in the next episodes, After Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro show up, Medical Nins show up, and transport Kiba to the hospital, along with most other Naruto characters!.
It was even said by the characters themselves that: "Neji Hyuuga and Chouji Akimichi are the only ones whose lives are in danger!. Shikamaru Nara's injuries are minour!. Kiba also has serious wounds but nothing fatal or dangerous"!.

If you wonder about that, do wonder why a lot of guys in the Dragon Ball series survive after an arm broken, having a large hole in the body, etc!.

he stabbed himself just to cause enough pain that sound ninja freak gets out of his body!.!.!.he did not hit in such a way that would be really fatal!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
