I think Hollywood totally ruined a perfect anime! WTH is up with the mach 6!? They should've kept it as the mach 5!!!!

The Franchise has some potential if they could clean things up a bit!. I think they picked a perfect cast of characters!. Only Sparky was nothing like the original but I can live with that!.
The ONE thing that bothered me most is what many seem to be irked with!. TOO MUCH Mach 6!!
As a kid, you ever have this kid who comes up with "Some new $#!T" that makes NO DAMN SENSE AT ALL!? Mach 6, though a cool car, is STRAIGHT outta that mode of thinking!.
The Main Idea for a successful film, based on old anime shows, is to STICK AS MUCH TO THE ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
This means the MACH 5 should be the MAIN CAR and the Car Speed wins his most important race with!.
And WHAT THE HELL is with the Idea of crossing the finishline the way he did!? (cant even describe it)!.
IDEAS for a SEQUAL
1!. MORE MACH 5 (NO Mach 6)
2!. Normal but cool looking cars!.
3!. Less CGI!. Some is Great!. TOO MUCH is HORRIBLE

Well, Speed Racer was far from a perfect anime!. the animation was not really that good, there are anime from that time that are better animated!.
But, the Speed Racer anime had a very nice story and the Mach 5 was just too cool for words!. There was also Racer X, who was the original mysterious, badass big brother type!.
As for the movie, well!.!.!. the movie is as much a Speed Racer homage as you can get, the races have the cartoon feel to them, heck even the ninja fight and the other brawl they have mid-race feels like a Spped Racer fight!.
Emile Hirsh (is that his name!?) was a bad choice to cast as speed, the rest of the cast was well selected, but that's not saying much!.
Still, I will admit the movie looks like crap, all the CGI backgrounds don't look that good and the general pace of the film is completely off, and the film is at least 30 minutes too long!.
I was also somewhat irked at the choice of having the Mach 6 be Speed's main car for the final race, if they had let Speed use the Mach 6 for the middle race and let him have good old Mach 5 for the first and last races, not the other way around; it would have been much, much better!.
But since you have not watched the movie, I doubt you can form an opinion by yourself other than all our internet gossip!. Give the movie a try when it's on video, it might not be a very good movie overall, but it at least does deserves a rent!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

when the hell was speed racer ever big (a craze)!? I'm 22 and i don't recall at anytime in my lifetime it ever being big!. The only time i remember it being referenced was when people were making fun of it!. I knew the movie was going to bomb!. Speed Racer is too cartoonish!. There is no way that it can ever be made into a successful full length movie!.Hollywood dropped the ball on this one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
