Question: Do you support manga making comics exstinct!?!?!?
I think less than 3 years from now no one will really care about comics anymore due to the meteoric (think I spelled it right) rise of popularity in manga!. Comics just seem cheesy next to manga when you compare I guy in a cape to something that actually pulls you in with the story!. I do not think this is going to happen!. Manga and superhero comics (I prefer to be specific because manga is comics from Japan and you're only talking about mainstream superhero comics, not independent comics or comics of other genres) generally have two different audiences!. Some people do like both, but I don't know that a lot of "Spider-Man" and "Batman" fans are going to dump those titles in favor of "Bleach" and "Naruto!." I'm sure you could find some readers of superhero comics who think the comics they read actually pull you into the story and that manga is just guys with swords and whiny emo kids!. Your analogy stating that manga will replace superhero comics the way DVD replace VHS tape doesn't really work!. DVD offered the exact same content as VHS tapes, but with better quality picture, the ability to skip and select chapters, and additional features!. What you're saying is closer to someone proclaiming "Horror films are going to replace romantic comedy because they are the next generation!." Each one serves a different audience and neither will "replace" the other!. It's fine to like manga, but you can sipport it without putting down other comics or saying that it will or should be the only kind of comic out there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't really like comic books!. I'll admit it!. I think most comic books are very sexist and have underlying meanings!. When I read/watch something, I don't want to have to worry about anything else but the story!.
After saying that, I'm one of the only people I know who enjoys manga/anime!. A lot of people hate it!. That's fine with me!. I don't care, so long as they butt out of my business when I'm reading!.
If a person enjoys making comics, I see no reason for them not being able to do what they love!. Their life, their decisions!. But I believe that the reason manga is so popular is that it's storyline, artwork, and accessibility is easier!. Manga is also much cheaper, even though it is imported!. I don't support that comics are going out of fashion, but I think they will!. They don't have the general appeal that mangas have!.

The two markets don't even compete with each other, and no manga series has had a staying-power even coming close to any of the American icons (Superman turned 70 this year)!. Manga only run as long as the original creator desires, and very rarely do they extend beyond the initial work (DB and Ghost in the Shell being two rare exceptions)!. Comics run well beyond that and enjoy the fruits of multiple artists and writers!. Many artists grow up to draw the very characters that were their icons as children!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no, because that is just manga!. its not always the same as the crappy cheesy made american comics because so many people find comfort in them because they remember reading them as kids!. manga is just becoming so popular because their making animes out of it so the people who watched them will want to read it!.

BS!. Manga will not kill American comics by any means!. There are a huge number of comic book fans who will not even pick up any manga period!. Just because you read only manga and all of your friends read only manga speaks nothing in the vast terms of the rest of the country!. It isn't going to die!. I actually believe that if anything, manga will wane in popularity in a few years and plateau out and not be on such an uprise!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think you need to get the right referances!.!.!. manga may be more popular now or more talked about!.!.!. but "American" comics are by no means just "a guy in a cape" !.!.!. "American" comics are not limited to superheroes or even this world!.!. even marvel comics deal with space and aliens!.!. while Dabel Brothers dealt with fantasy and knights!.!. and Dark Horse has an amazing array of Star Wars comics!.
