Question: Which Batman villian, in your opinion, has the most tragic story for why they are a villain!?
Answers:
Harvey Dent, a!.k!.a!. Two-Face!. Dent was a prosecuting attorney in Gotham City, and a good one!. A mobster he had on the stand realized that Dent was going to manage to send him to prison and took revenge by throwing a vial of acid into Dent's face, right in the courtroom, and scarred one side of Dent's face horribly!. Dent suffered some very real pain from the assult, but the worst damage was to his mind, and "Two-Face" (as Dent became known) became quite another person, obsessed with duality and the number two, and making decisions based on the flip of a coin!. Dent lost everything he valued to a criminal act, including his mind, and the consequences continued for years!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Mr!. Freeze!. (The Animated Series version!.)

Victor Fries married a beautiful young woman named Nora, who eventually contracted a terminal illness!. Fries then takes on a job working for a large company run by the ruthless Ferris Boyle!. Fries discovers a way to put Nora into cryo-stasis (using company equipment without permission), and places her in that state hoping to sustain her until a cure could be found!. Boyle finds out about the experiment and attempts to have her brought out of stasis, overruling Fries' frantic objections!. A struggle ensues, in which Boyle kicks Fries into a table full of chemicals and leaves him for dead!. Fries survives, but his body temperature is lowered dramatically; he can now only live at sub-zero temperatures, forced to wear a special refrigerating suit to stay alive!. As Mr!. Freeze, he uses cryonic technology to create a gun, which fires a beam that freezes any target within its range!.

His first act as a costumed criminal is to take revenge upon Boyle, a plan with which Batman interferes!. Mr!. Freeze fires his freeze-gun at Batman, but he dodges, causing the beam to shatter Nora's capsule!. Freeze blames Batman, and swears to destroy whatever the Dark Knight holds dear (mainly Gotham City, and eventually Robin)!.

Fries lost everything!. And, unlike other "I've lost everything" villains (like Alan Moore's Joker, or Two-Face), Fries remembers every bit of it!. He lives with it every day!. And, if Batman Beyond is to be believed, he will have a very long time to dwell on his grief - the subzero temperatures that sustain his health also substantially lengthen his life!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can't remember the name he went under!. I have to admit, the famous ones like Joker and Two Face are important, and very tragic!.

But the one that really makes it for me was back in the 80's!. Beautiful, glamorous fashion models were being brutally murdered in such a way that they were defaced first, like one had her face competely burned off, one's face was eaten away totally by acid, etc!. Even if they survived the attack, their careers were destroyed!. The criminal wore a gold mask that completely covered his face!.

Batman figured out that the criminal was getting revenge for being disfigured himself, and narrowed it down to a few men who had been in an accident associated with all the models!. When Batman finally tracked him down, it turned out to be a male model they worked with, who blamed them for the loss of his career!.

In the final scene, Batman unmasked the villain!. Batman thought he was prepared to see any horrible scars or burns, but when he saw the man's face, he couldn't stop staring!. It shocked Batman so much, he turned away from the villain in disgust and contempt!.

All he had was a TINY unnoticeable scratch on one cheek!.

The tragedy is that it was no other reason than his egotism, his vanity over his appearance, that led him to murder and disfigure those innocent women!. He thought he was so good looking that he deserved to get revenge that way!.

THAT is just so low, and so cruel and so unnecessary, yet so realistic and life-like, because there are people out there who are really like that, and those are the ones we see on the news when they go on a berserk killing spree for reasons everybody else thinks are nonsense!.

I think that is one of the single most tragic Batman stories I've read!.

Without question, it has gotta be TWO-FACE!

Harvey Dent was a foremost law-abiding citizen!. He was state prosecutor!. Then a crook splashed his face with acid, and he went mad!. he committed crimes based on a motif of the number "2!."

THE JOKER, according to his "THE KILLING JOKE" origin weighs in as a close second- if it were true!. [The Joker said, concerning his Origin, "How did I begin!? Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another- if I'm going to have an Origin Story, I want it to be MULTIPLE CHOICE!"]

We was a law-abiding citizen, who got accidentally shangaied into a heist as their mascot, the infamous RED HOOD!. It was not understood that The Red Hood was not a single man, but merely someone who was given the helmet to wear!. Batman broke up the operation, and the man who would be Joker, fell into acid trying to escape him, and became bleached and insane!.

WHY he's No!. 2: At any point, the Joker could have "Just said "No!" " before his derangment!. Harvey Dent never had that choice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ventriloquist basically because he is controlled by a puppet called scarface!. Come on how depressing would it being bossed around by a puppet!. He also suffers from mutiple personality disorders at least other villians do their own thing but being controlled by a puppet and having to carry that puppet everywhere u go yea weird and embarrassing and he has no balls if he is being bossed around by scarfaceWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think Mr!. Freeze is because he was a good person and a well educated doctor, but then his wife that he loved very much developed a terrible/rare illness!.

Most of the other Batman villains would have become crazy psychopaths anywaysWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think Two-Face's origin is quite tragic!. Harvey Dent had quite a bit going for him, and then bam!. Two-Face'd! Heh!.
