Okay, with some of these people they describe things such as crushes, such as wonder girl and the buxom redhead from Roger Rabbit!. Maybe it's just lust!? A physical attraction!?
I find the concept of an emotion attraction to an imaginary character quite strange, especially ones that lack depth and are cookie cutter stereotypes, in regard to strange otaku nerds!. I've never seen Avatar, the last whatever bender, but maybe you just find this Katara's personality and appearance cute, something you can also find amongst real, living people!.
When it all comes down to it, this "Katara" is not real, no matter how much you watch the show she will never embrace you, comfort you, kiss you, talk to you, or even smile at you!.
Katara is a really strange name anyway!.!. Like something an American created to sound oriental!.

I don't think it's that weird!. I'm 23 and I like a lot of girl Anime character personalities!. Like Kaname Chidori (FMP!), Kagome (Inuyasha), Nana and Lucy(Elfen Lied), Naru (Love Hina), Ayu and Mokoto (Kanon(2006)), Ayumi (Magikano), and Mikura (Mezzo DSA)!. I think their personalities are hot, sweet, and sexy!. I like the dangerous type!. I don't think you should only focus on one Anime though because there is so much out there!. If I can find a woman IRL that is the best of all those Anime girls personalities, then that would be a dream come true!.
