How much editing would it take to.....?!

It depends how you do it!. There have certainly been films where people held poses which were then shot, and the shots put together for animation!. Essentially what you would probably have to do is choreograph the fight, figure out how long it is -- and therefore how many frames there would be, take ROUGHLY twice as many still pictures as you would have in the film (figure 24-30 frames per second), combine them in photoshop or gimp, and save them as whatever format your moviemaker will accept (usually jpegs or gifs)!.
