Actually, no!. Let's see they created an arc that was completely unrelated to the story line, which is called fillers!. In the Bounto Arc this has happened before, Rukia stayed in Soul Society, but came back on a mission!. Then Hueco Mundo Arc started when Rukia came back again which was confusing!.
Okay back to your question!. They created those fillers, so the anime won't catch up that fast on the anime!.
Bleach 168 is currently happening during the Hueco Mundo Arc, but is considered as a filler!.
