Actually, it's not about the most popular one, but the best rated one!. I found this site and these anime are in the very top, and I believe they worthy of this position!.
1!. Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal
In my opinion this OVA was better than the series Rurouni Kenshin!. The OVA was amazing, and has mature story line!. You know with the violence, and the rage of emotions!.
2!. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
This is a new season of Code Geass, and I think it would be able to beat the rating of the first season!.
3!. Death Note
This anime definitely fits the spot, despite it's considered overrated popularity!. It's still one of best series I saw!.
4!. Mushi-Shi
One thing I noticed is the most well rated animes are always dark-themed!. This anime is underrated, and a must watch!. (thanks to JeremyC)
5!. Cowboy Bebop
Of course who would forget this classic anime!. One of the best adventure I ever had watching anime!. The story is amazing overall!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Right now, I would say bleach!. There are more than 160 episodes right now!. In fact, there are so many episodes and so many fans, that there are many who are waiting each week to snatch up a copy of the most recent episode!. Unfortunately, the writers and artists arent fast enough to keep up with its fan bases desire!. I am one of the thousansds who wait each week for the new episodes to be subtitled!. Death note is ok!. The only problem is, its real short with about 30 episodes, with more intense plots than action scenes!. Naruto I think has the action, but not the depth that Bleach has!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
