If you have to pick which anime to watch first, i would say to watch samurai 7 this about a village of rice frammer who was sick and tried of thes bandits stealing there food every you!. So the elder decide that they would hire samurai to protect them from the bandits!. So they chose 3 village member to search for samurai in the city!. But the problem is that they don't have no money and they can only offer rice as payment!. also they must get seven samurais hence the name Samurai 7!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Karas (but it's not for everyone, lots of action)

Eureka Seven (comedy, romance, and meca battles and sky surfing)

Shakugan No Shana (young girl (fame haze) always fighting demons w/ a sword)

Samurai Champloo (fall out of your chair comedy, with lots of sword action)

FLCL (funniest anime ever, it's a classic!. Only 6 eps)

Bleach (a long running series!. very funny lots of action)

Full Metal Panic (Comedy about high school Mercenaries, battles with mecas)

Fate/Stay Night (Magical, Romance about legendry heroes, like King Author)

DN Angel (romance, comedy, magical, action filled anime about a boy who changes into a thief with angel wings)

Elfen Lied (gore filled, action packed anime, with a little romance!.)

Rurouni Kenshin (awsome anime about a legendry feared samuria who saves life by not killing)

Death Note (anime about a boy, who finds a notebook that kills people and he sets off the save the world)
