I am in to action manga, with guns, shoot outs, sword fights, the works!. manga stories about the mafia or gangs is also good!. i am looking for recommendations of manga with good story line, and good art work!. Black Cat is a very good anime/manga!. It's about a top assassin who leaves a secret organisation called Chronos that controls a third of the world, although in secret!. After leaving, he becomes something of a bounty hunter and becomes mixed up in a greater conspiracy where he, as a top gunsman, is wanted by both his former employees and another organisation for his brilliant skills that earned him the reknowned title of Black Cat and Chronos Number XIII (13)!. His name is Train Heartnet and he wields a special gun!. One joins the military in order to access a special library of alchemy and is pursued by people who want to kill or kidnap him for his skills in alchemy!.

Even though I've never read it, I've heard that Elfen lied is!.!.!.gory!. I watched the first episodes and it pretty much covers what you're talking about!. Read the manga at your own risk though! (I thought it was quite disturbing!)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Plenty of action, some bloody moments, very funny, can get pretty deeep, one of the most original story lines in anime, the only thing that might throw you off is the art style but just give it a chance it can grow on you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's called Trigun! It's by far the most amazing, and sadly under appreciated manga I have ever read!. So far there are about 12 in the English version plus the two Prologue books!. (they're really big) The series comes in two parts, the first part is like a prologue the second part is called Trigun Maximum!.
It's about the greatest gunman in the world (which is not earth because it's in the future after earth is destroyed!.) who never shoots to kill!.
He's on a quest and meets several entertaining people along the way including two insurance girls and a gun-toting chain-smoking priest!.

I'm a pretty big manga fan and i would have to recommend berserk,airgear,elfen lied,fullmetal alchamist but although you are not looking for the popular manga most of the popular ones go way longer than the smaller ones so if you decide to watch the more popular ones i recommend bleach!.
