What do you guys think about naruto manga chapter 397?!
Question: do you think itachi was really trying to save sasuke all this time? or was putting his techniques into sasuke just for revenge or something against tobi??
I mean itachi trying to protect sasuke kinds makes sense if you think about the whole series.
Itachi had so many opportunities to kill sasuke but he spared him multiple times. I know some of you might say he spared him to just to get his eyes, but could he have gotten them at any moment? what do you all think?

Ive been thinking about it since I read it (about half and hour ago) and I think that Itachi has been a good guy all along. I think his plan was something along these lines: He found out about Madara and in order to protect his village, clan, etc, he joined Madara and got him to teach him. When he learned about the mangeyeko sharigan (sorry about the spelling), Madar would have told him that no one could kill him unless they had a mangeyeko sharingan, so in order to poses the power to defeat Madara, Itachi had to kill his friend and get mangeyeko. I think he let his clan get killed because it would be the only way to protect Sauske and insure his survival. He told Sasuke he killed the clan to get sasuke angry and seek power at all costs for revenge (thus having sasuke kill his friend to get mangeyeko sharigan), in order for Sasuke to have the ability to protect himself from Madara. That would be why Itachi keeps apearing, getting Sasuke more angry in order to convince him to get the sharingan. I think Itachi had it all planned from the begining and used his final battle with Sasuke to implant his fire jutsu in sasuke to get a good chance to kill Madara and protect the shinibi world, the leaf village, and sasuke. Thats what Madara meant by "risked everything..." (meaning he risked his life to protect everything form Madara). I think something along those lines is what Itachi was planning and that he is a real Hero.

i was one of those guys that kept getting flamed for putting up "Itachi good guy theories" and now its like YIPEEEE!!!!!
Itachi kept making comments about getting sasukes ms to gain ems...but sasuke never had it so why was itachi still tryn to get his eyes it didnt make sense coz as u sed he could of taken his normal sharingan eyes long time ago.....
i think u probly do have to kill your friend or have the same sort of feelings as doing it....my guess is itachi and shisui were both students of Madara and had to kill eachother to gain ms...itachi not wanting to do it...shisui wanted it so bad he tried to kill itachi which left him no choice but to kill shisui and do as madara wanted bcoz he wasnt strong enough.
i think the whole putting techniqes into sasuke is pretty cool.....maybe he abused his ms and sharingan to the point of gaining as much techniques and jutsus as he could before he transfers them......
im jst wondering though did itachi poke sasuke in the forehead jst before sasuke showed his dad grand fireball technique

I wonder what tobi did to make Itachi want to kill him.....I need to read the next chapter...
Saskue looked as if he gave up on life, he dedicated his life to kill Itachi then meets another man who helped be part of the tragedy that caused him all this suffering! Poor Saskue :(
Masashi Kishimoto is quite the writer indeed!! I've never read anything so in depth!
