Answers: i can name adult cartoons with one had, but there's NOTHING for teens,

anime filled the gap

ANIME PWNS CARTOONS!

cuz American studios don't have the brain power for depth in cartoons and are scared of violence.

I'm not sure, but there's always the reality shows most teens enjoy.

Family Guy and The Simpsons are both teen aimed cartoons

Sure there are. There are plenty of animated cartoons for teens. Kim Possible is one of those.

children love the colors, and the cartoons are funny.

what about the simpsons, family guy, south park, all those shows?

watch boondocks, the simpsons, or family guy. might seem like kid shows, but they have a greater purpose. their kinda satirical in a way. made for adults

their not family guy is aimed twards adults its just that kids watch it more!

Family Guy is not for kids. But kids cartoons could be watched by adults too.

dora the explorer

I am 20 and still watch tom and jerry, mickey mouse cartoons, lol.

What about Family Guy and everything on adult swim? Naruto is a teenager cartoon too.

only for kids like Dora the explorer sesame street teletubies loony toons baby loony toons??

But if your looking for like teen cartoons then like the simpsons and family guy south park king of the hill i know this isn't a cartoon but That's so 70 show

Some adults love cartoons. When I moved overseas, it helped me with my French.

well most teens enjoy soaps nd other programs but you can always watch recess and simpsons..ther for teens...well i enjoy simpsons...so...yh...xxxx

theres loads of cartoons that are for adults
familyt guy, american dad, king of the hill, southpark, simpsons (have loads of jokes that would go straight over the heads of children)

Simpsons is great for teens, beevis and butthead, ren and stimpy, spongebob, family guy, king of the hill, futurama, south park.. all those target teens and adults alike.

na i watch cartoons and im a teen inuyasha family guy ed edd and eddie lol

Teens don't watch cartoons--its odd how that works. Children and adults do. But in your teens your kind of finding your maturity level and as an adult you have found it and you learn to laugh at life's hardballs in the respect of a cartoon. Like Family Guy. LOL

south park, simpsons, family guy, king of the hill, futurama, home movies, bevis and butt head, eon flux, aqua teen hunger force, there are more, but i cant think of them right now.

thats because teens should like shows with people that have live organs

OMG! its not only for kid.. its all for everyone. =)

A word of note.

Anime is what the Japanese call 'Animation'. Anime are cartoons, the Japanese just have a higher tolerance for sex and violence in their shows.

And a cartoon doesn't need to have violence or sex to be considered for teens or adults. I know plenty of both who enjoy shows such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends for example.

maybe its because they think little kids have more interest into cartoons where as the teens are busy doing other things (computer, sports, ect;) and the little kids are the ones just sitting around all day watching tv.

They are not only made for kids. The Simpsons target teens and adults. Futurama has the same target. Most cartoons on Adult Swim are more geared towards adults.

What are you watching? I love cartoons!

bcoz kids only be easily attracted by cartoon.

well I'm a teen and i watch teen titans, and i like the blue dragon, there's Danny phantom, ans every Buddy loves scooby-doo.
but your rite there really arent and teen toons its aname 4 us

family guy and simpsons are for adults

Because animation has it's roots in early vaudeville acts. Vaudville actors such as Windsor McCay had the early animations such as Gertie the Dinosaur, an animated dinosaur he would "interact" with onstage. As cartoons in america evolved, it utilized it's roots in vaudville and slapstick comedy. The reason it's so different when imported from Japan is that as animation was developing there in the early 19th century, the budgets for their live action series were really limited, and they suffered from a lack of diversity in their actors, so they animated a lot of their dramas. Most of the ideas for anime today are derived from some form of old Kabuki plays, or more spins off of the dramas they see over here.

Ellie is incorrect,

Vaudeville was a form of adult entertainment, often filled with crude and adult humor for an adult audience. Vaudeville was not a venue for children. Even when animated shorts appeared in front of movies in the 30's-50's, the shorts aired in front of movies that adults watched. They were always intended for adult audiences. The sanitization and "kiddy-ification" of cartoons became the norm when cartoons started being produced for television.
