Why are most American cartoons retarded?!
Question: There are only a few that are decent. Most of them suck. Lame plots and stupid characters. Plus the way they are drawn makes it look like a five year old did all the work. Especially the ones that come on saturday mornings. My little sister watches that crap. It's ridiculous. Disney used to put out some good stuff back in the day (Little Mermaid, Aladdin, ect), but even they are slacking off from REAL drawing, using CGI instead. The plots in most American cartoons are all the same and they are stupid. ;)

Probably because they aren't up to date to Japanese animes.. this is a fact! did you know : the american cartoon peoples.... they copied PowerPuff Girls from the Japanese.. im SOO serious.. check it out on crunchyroll.. they look TOTALLY different from the american ones..

Because they're for little kids. 95% of American cartoons are targeted for kids ten years old and younger, so of course they lose appeal to older viewers. If your sister enjoys them, let her, it's what makes her happy and keeps her entertained. The people who made the shows made them for her, not for you. In America the majority view is that cartoons are primarily for children and people are supposed to grow out of them. Japan does not share this view, obviously.
There's not much market for cartoons which appeal to the older demographics in America, but there have been some excellent ones like Samurai Jack, Afro Samurai, the Batman/Superman/Justice League series, Clones Wars, Aeon Flux, the MAXX, Spawn, Family Guy, Futurama, Simpsons, and the entire Adult Swim line-up.
The real reason is because the new generation of kids don't have the same interests as those before them.
I have no idea. This annoys me too!
