Question: -Does the anime have the whole manga story? I know animes normally leave stuff out. I want to know if it doesn't end short.

No, it doesn't... The thing is that when the Anime was being released the Manga was still not finished... so, they Anime has some elements the Manga doesn't and the other way around... Good thing is that it doesn't have fillers... The whole Anime is great; actually to me one of the best in terms of plot and content; but it's not the same... Just one example ('cus I don't want to spoil it for you) the evil dude in the Manga is "Father", the dude that looks just the same as Ed and Al's dad, Hikari no Hohenheim (Hohenheim of Light), he was who created all the homunculus... In the Anime, Dante, Hohenheim's first lover is the evil one... she controls the homunculus, but she only created Pride and maybe Gluttony (it's never specify this last one...)... Well, there are other differences...
But, the end is just perfect to me... Not a happy ending; but a hopeful one... where there still chance to keep on believing and trying to fix things up... However, after that there's a movie... which is just OK, I mean, you should see it... so, you'll know the real end... But, it's not that good... though is not bad either...
My fav character of the guys is Maes Hughes... He is such a great dad, a silly man, who always is talking about his daughter and wife... He's just so sweet and beautiful...
Of the women... Izumi Curtis, she's amazing... Such a strong woman, who would be the perfect mom (strict yet kind and sweet), yet she can not give birth... Her story is the one that convince me the most... After all... Who wouldn't try to bring back to life a close dear person???

but besides Ed and Al my favorite is probably Wrath.

Hmm, from FMA, I like Winry. I think she belongs with Ed. I also like Envy... and Greed (oddly enough).

1. manga has a lto more than the anime so a lot is left out but the aniem is still good

No, it doesn't. It leaves out a lot of stuff and changes things. I prefer the manga.

ok the whole manga is hard to find but stores like comic connetsion as fma not the whole manga story but they have it also baords sould have same of it if not the whloe thing. dude go to this web page www.onemanga.com and then selcet fma it will be fullly spelled out then go down and chosse what u want to read its free to read. also try www.mangahut.com its free to read but i think u need to sign up for it. hope this really hleps
The anime doesn't have the whole manga in it. It goes about half-way throught the manga, but then it cuts off and goes its own course.
My favorite? Why, my avvie says it all! It's none other than Jean Havoc! Ohh, I luvs him! ^_^
I'm pretty sure the manga is still ongoing, so the anime would never have all of the plot. Also, the first few episodes of the anime are far different from the rest of the show (different cities and all.) I had heard that was because it was never meant to really be an anime, and was just supposed to support something, but then it became popular. Not to mention that the anime itself doesn't have a very defined ending, and you need to watch the movies to get the full story (they aren't just sidestories, like normal.)
I love Riza Hawkeye and her adorable dog. They seem like the perfect balance of serious and funny.
