i've seen the anime and read most of the manga (currently) available. trust me they are very different. the show is in a very different order from the manga, Ikuto's (cat guy) personality is quite odd, and there are tons of filler episodes. it's basically watered down a lot to suit a younger/wider audience.
if you want the most out of shugo chara, read the manga. or you could do both, if you dont mind the differences and fillers. (watching also helps pass the time while you wait for the next manga chapter, lol)
I havent read the manga so I cant directly answer which is better. But the anime is very good and fun so I would watch it.
I don't know i havent read the manga but i watched the anime and i think they're the same,but the manga is much farther than the anime is right now, so u can watch the manga if you wanna zoom by it fast, but you can watch episode by episode of the anime on crunchyroll.com,there are currently 21 episodes subbed out of 51 episodes.And they are still subbing.

Um, in my opinion, they are a bit different....but since no one is really translating the manga recently, I just watch the anime.
More convenient, I guess... (since Formula is actively subbing the anime) :D
But if I could choose, I would like to read the manga, since...well....it doesn't seem as repetitive as the anime. Plus, it seems like it has a deeper storyline... xD
