Is Batman an anime or just a cartoon?!

Question: well it was a movie once with real people but no its not an anime

Answers: well it was a movie once with real people but no its not an anime

Meh I don't care. He's just Batman and I'm Optimus Prime

Anime simply means that it is animated and comes from Japan.

Although there are Batman animated series, they didn't come from Japan. So no it is not an anime.

Cartoon, but American animation artists have been borrowing heavily from the Japanese recently (i.e Teen Titans, The Batman) so I guess it can ALMOST be deemed Anime.

Batman is a comic, and the new "The Batman" is a cartoon drawn anime-style. Anime is strictly Japanese. For example, Avatar is not anime. Interestingly, the newer Justice league movie "new frontier" is uses the classic comic style.

Lots of US cartoons use anime-style art because it is both popular and cheap. Other cartoons are also using cheap Flash animation, which IMHO looks awful.

1. Most of those stylized designs, while influenced by Japanese work, are done in the West.

2. Batman is a franchise. Believe it or not there is supposed to be some relationship between the cartoons and the live action stories and the comic books.

3. In our globalized economy people are working everywhere on these things and anime is just Japanese for animation anyhow so the answer is both.
