Question: I read about this maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I don't remember anything about it except that the protagonist is a female lawyer by day and some kind of crimefighter/vigilante by night. I think she has long, dark hair. Google searches aren't helping me. Anyone know what this is?

Manhunter sounds like the best bet to me too, but wasn't Spider-Woman (70s Jessica Drew) an attorney too? Although she's pretty hard to forget, too.
Let's see, Wonder Woman was a nurse, Hawk Girl I think was an assistant DA, not certain of the Huntress, ...Was it BatGirl? It couldn't have been Super girl or Elisa Maza. Angela? And there is no way it was Cheetara. Rouge has never been allowed to grow up and have a career. It could be Jennifer Selling in the Dallas/FT. Worth area. She could be the one you are thinking of.
It's definitely Manhunter, I'm in the middle of Volume 3 as we speak. Err, type. The series is three years old and a critical hit, if not a commercial one, so it fits your time line perfectly, and it makes sense that you would have heard people talking about it.
She-Hulk is an attorney, but not a "vigilante", and is rarely out at night.
