Comic book help, please!?!

Question: I have a 13 year old brother who is about to have a birthday and I wanted to get a subscription to Wolverine Origins for him. I notice that the rating said "Parental Advisory". What does that really mean? If its just violence or blood that's ok, but if its nudity or bad language I don't want to get it for him. So can someone who has already read this comic please tell me if you think its alright? Thanks for the help!

99% of comics with mature content will say "Mature Readers" on them. "Parental Advisory" is basically the equivalent of a PG-13 rating. If he's 13 it'll be fine for him. Wolverine is a guy with razor sharp claws on his hands, so of course there's going to be violence. In fact, that's exactly why most 13 year olds boys love Wolverine. No curse words or full nudity are in any Marvel comics unless it's part of their MAX line, which is for mature readers.

I would recommend the regular Wolverine title for him instead of Origins, but that's for quality, not concern over content

Anything with Wolverine tends to have a lot of violence in the form of blood and killing. The Origins series has no sexual images, but it has a fair share of violence and blood. (Come on, the guy has 3 foot-long blades implanted in each wrist!)

The language is a bit harsh, but it's not like Sopranos. I do not recall any real swearing in it, just the violence. (Note: Anything from the Marvel MAX line WILL include blood, violence, nudity, and language.)

I don't know about "Origins" but in all Wolverine issues I've read, there's never been any real nudity or bad language but there is a lot of violence- sometimes quite graphic.

as far as i know, there is no nudity on them, just some normal foul languages and a lot of violence,blood...as your brother is a mature boy, i think is no prob for him...

(^-*)

They get to say parental advisory meaning of the blood and killing graphics that are in the book. There is nothing in there like SEX. you know hard core action. There is no such thing. You should take a look at the pictures. If you get scared then don't give it to him. Good graphics of blood shed isn't good for kids. The graphics should be poor. Like not real.
