I like them both , each for different reasons, I don't know what you are looking for...If I had to choose one to read, I would choose Superman. If I had to choose o seeing eiher movie, Superman Returns or Spiderman, It would be Spiderman
personally i like the girl super heros.... maybe its because im a girl..but if i had to choose one... spider man wins no doubt.

Superman.. ahh, for one thing.. he's "super" as implied by his name.
Secondily, Superman has WAY more powers..maybe too many powers.
1) Heat vision to catch things on fire -- spidey can't do that
2) Flying ability - he can go anywhere...even outerspace... spidey can't do that unless there is something to 'tether to'
3) Bullet proof -- sure spidey is agile so he can dodge most bullets..but if he gets caught off guard, and takes a bullet -- games over, where as Superman is bullet proof.
4) Strength - spidey is embued with SOME super strength - but Superman is the undisputed strongest superhero out there.
In a battle, it is no doubt that Spiderman could put up a good fight, but his main weapons, his webs and punching/kicking just won't do any damage to Superman.
Superman could simply pick up spiderman, fly way out into space and throw spidey into the Sun -- End of Story.

Considering strength,agility,healing factor and many other thing, i think superman is far better than spider man.

has anybody seen spiderman he has more agility,acrobatics than any other superhero.superman is just a brick wall that runs fast and has heat and freeze vision.check out every villain spiderman has faced,if he can take down all of them then he can take down superman ps spider sense.the only villains superman faces are just mostly a bunch of criminals.

A lot of weak answers here. What makes both of these characters great is that they have interesting histories and reasons for being heroes (an alien trying to fit in and a guy trying to overcome a guilt complex for letting the murderer of his uncle get away) as well as great supporting casts (Lois Lane, Aunt May, Ma and Pa Kent, Mary Jane Watson.)
Superman is too powerful, and it's hard to think he'll ever lose, but he has to be extra focused on ethical discipline because he's so dangerous. Spiderman regularly puts his life at risk fighting baddies because he CAN be hurt and killed.
