Can you really break a metal chain with a sword like in the movies?!

Question: Sure you can, but it will mess up your sword, & requires a very weak chain.

Examples:
-Get a big fat broadsword (a thick one like a crow-bar, not one of those skinny rapiers, or katanas), jam the broadsword between the chain & some surface to create a fulcrum & lever setup. Then push the sword tip against the surface & try to stretch the chain out. Using some leverage you can break a relatively old / rusty / thin chain. But the broadsword might bend (if the sword quality is low), or dent in certain places.

Depends on your skill with swordmanship, whether the metal chain is fake, real or real n rusty and also whether the sword's metal is of good quality.
