Is is weird to LOVE anime???!
Question: I'm 12, and i am totally OBSESSED WITH ANIME. i just wanted to know if it makes me a loser with no life. i mean i get decent grades, have friends, and i like to play sports outside. but my brother told me that if you enjoy anime at all it makes u a weirdo...
well i really like it though! i watch it like for a couple hours a day or so.

I love it too, i dont think its weird otherwise all of Japan is weird along with many other countries. Hell, even the makers of the anime love it, otherwise whats the point to make it :)

Your brother just has different taste respect what he likes and tell him to do the same for you if he doesn't say something like "your lose" and no matter what he says after ignore him. As long as you know its not getting in the way of studying or with friends then its fine. A couple of hours a day? Some people are on it ALL day! Theres nothing wrong with being a fan just don't get to obsessive its okay to talk/watch/think about it but if it takes over your life then that's a different story.
Dont worry my friends make fun of it too. Deep down I know they like it though!!

There will always be people who aim for the streotype in anything and in this case it's anime the common notion is "That stuff is wierd". These happen to be the same people who are nothing but followers believing what the person before them told them. Narrow-minded might be a better word if anything saying anime is wierd is to me in the same category as saying watching TV is wierd. Is it wierd to enrap yourself into a fantastic tale.story with intriguing characters and perhaps some very unique protagonists and antagonists?!
Why that'd be like someone saying its wierd to watch movies! Anime is simply another genre out there. Anime is a great thing for the fact that is it embodies creativity from alternate worlds to demons to impossible real life events it really is somones imagination brough to life you cannot mess with an anime creators imagination they put their soul into the story and I for one will respect their artwork to appreciate art one must study it. In this case anime spans a wide variety of genres such as action,romance,horror so I fail to see why someone can't get into something with such a wide variety of tales/comedy/action/horror/romance/surre... but even if they don't like anime they should politely respect other people's interests and mind their own business.
I mean how would they like it if I told them one of their hobbies/interests were wierd?
Some people need to learn a little Respect. Anime bursts with creativity and originality (Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist -to name a few favs)
But I am open to debate with those who don't like anime but if all they can up with is simply "its stupid" or "its wierd" then I fail to see that as an argument they must back up their arguments in which I haven't seen a single person yet do. Pitiful....

No way are you a Weirdo. Aime is awesome. If your brother thinks you are a weirdo then I'm a weirdo too (I meant it in a good way.). I also, like Star Wars and a lot of people think that I'm a nerd. I do not care what they think of me. I will like what I like and if they do not like it do not talk to me. I'm blabbing too much. I'll go now:)
It doesn't make you a loser, weirdo or anything else like that. Your brother is saying that just because you like something he doesn't. I love anime and have loved it for over 14 years and will love it forever. I have a wonderful life with lots of family and friends. Everyone likes different things and no one is a loser for it. :)Too many people are just close minded when it comes to different things. Don't worry about, just continue to love it no matter what. You're definitely not alone in loving anime, there are many many people who love it. I love anime and manga! Hope I helped some. :)

Its just fine to like anime. I'm fourteen and I love anime, I draw my own manga strips all the time and when I write my books I draw out my characters in manga style. There's nothing wrong with liking it at all. Just because its not 'in style' doesn't mean its not right to like.
here are my philosophies of life:
1.) NORMALITY IS OVERRATED!
2.) When I grow up I want to be just like me!
-Meaning be your own unique individual and never conform to the masses!
3.) I like tea...oh wait, that's getting off topic. Sowwy!
Anways, just be yourself, your young. So go out there and have fun! And don't let people belittle you or tell you your weird. Just because you like something doesn't mean its wrong. Its all about your paradigms. And if there weren't these differences in the world then the world would be boring.
Also remember to respect others who don't share your love of something. Because just because you don't like it either doesn't mean its wrong. Again, its all about your perspective on things. Or in other words, your paradigm.
