Try a show called texhnolyze, its actionpacked and has good storyline, suits me well.
I would watch Bleach. Very, very good. If not that, you might try FMA. But I'd still watch Bleach.

Trigun, Helsing, Cowboy Beebop for series recommendations. Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D, X, are all good movies. Also Spirited Away is pretty good.

"Belleville rondevouz" is a work of art. It might be called the "triplets of belle view" more recently. It has 5 little inserts that take the piss out of disney and has as much detail applied to the backgrounds as to the characters.

Mushishi -
Mushishi is a very surreal supernatural fantasy/drama/horror anime. The animation are the best I've seen in anime. Absolutely gorgeous visuals! Each episode tells a different story, concerning a different case, and each one is so compelling. It really makes you think about what is happening. The music is awesome, it suits the serene nature of the anime well. When you watch this, you can really feel yourself slipping into another world! ^^ It's a masterpiece. My favorite anime. There are 26 episodes.
