I have an assignment in high school about heroes and i have to get others opinions on what they think a hero is!

A hero is someone who puts the needs of others above themself. Someone who will risk their own life so that others are safe. Someone who does good deeds without a reward. If needed, someone who fights for others.

A hero is someone who does what they have to do without complaint or hesitation and without expectation of reward.
IMO, a hero is anyone who is willing to risk a great cost to save a life, be it from death, financial ruin, or whatever. The neighbor next door could be a hero if he saved his dog if his house caught on fire. You could be a hero if you knocked someone out of the way of drunk driver.
