Since Naruto is one of the many manga titles....
In business, not much will be affected. There are still many interesting titles to sell. And one of them may even come out with a different genre and become popular. And yes, I think Bleach will become more popular instead. XD
In general fandom, it's actually the same basically. There are so many fandoms - and it's not about Naruto alone, we have Bleach, Gundam series, several interesting ones..... maybe not as "spectacular" (?) as what we have now, though.
Good thing is: no stupid fandom fights, no "X is better than Y" stuffs.....
I wouldn't say it would be "boring" without Naruto because was my life boring before Naruto came in? Definitely not. Just when Naruto entered, things became more.... interesting.

0_0........Noo!! I can barely remember getting by when I wasn't into it, now you're asking me what people would be like without it?! Well, I think I would still be very narrow minded in the sense of watching anime and reading manga. I doubted Fullmetal Alchemist and thought it was stupid (I still cringe when I think of that), and when I got into it, I told myself I was going to be more open-minded with what I read from now on. So when I first saw Naruto on tv, my first reaction was, "this is stupid!" Eventually, I realized that there must be a manga (since I prefer manga to anime), so I read the first chapter of Naruto, and it was then I realized why everyone made such a huge fuss about it! Reading Naruto has actually made me start reading other things, things I wouldn't normally read (plus it got me started on yaoi -- I love you Masashi Kishimoto!!). So, ending this little story, life would be very, very dull if Naruto were never created. T_T

If Masashi Kishimoto has never created Naruto, I think One Piece or Bleach will still be on top in the anime food chain currently
However, the ninja influence would be a lot less versus the samurai influence. Us Americans would probably never even touched the world of Anime on Cartoon Network as much as we have now.
