Are there any differences between Yakitate!! Japan Anime and Manga??!
Question: This is one of the few cases where the Anime is considered better than the manga.
Main differences are that in the Anime all the jokes are better told animated complete with the sounds & moving facial expressions for each character. When combined, the sounds, animations & better character association / development will allow even stupid puns to make you smile.
Also, sometimes the manga's versions of jokes can be more "mature" but funnier (Ex: Instead of radishes jumping out of a box, we have naked midgets running out).
Storyline wise, there isn't much of difference until the ending of the series.
Anime - The Yakitate 9 - 9 gameshow puzzle squares
Manga - The Yakitate 25 - 25 gameshow puzzle squares
This is better explained later in the series, but each puzzle square is a separate cooking challenge. And since the Yakitate Anime was nearing its ending, the cut it off to the Yakitate 9 & then the ending episodes.
