naruto doesn't know that his father was the fourth. But i think if u follow the manga, he's gonna know soon becoz the frog has a message that I think relates to naruto.
Ok this is kinda a spoiler so be carful how far you read. Ready . .
Later on in the series, there's a guy called Pain(one of the Asukie) and Jiarya goes to talk to him. It urns out that Pain was trained by Jiarya for 10 days just long enough so he could defend himself and two other children (other Asukia members now) after their parents were killed. You also find out that Jiraya is Narutos godfather and Naruto got his name from Jirayas book he wasa writting that was a autobiography! He thought of it as he was eating ramen, and when Narutos dad read the book he loved the name and hence Narutos name came to be. Thats where you also find out thta Narutos dad is the Hokage. At the end though >sniff< Jiraya is KILLED by Pain. As hes dying he thinks of a new title for the next book he had wanted to write. Thus book was called Naruto, the 8th Hokage or something like that.
