Stepmania downloads??!
Question: ok well if you download a stepmania song
and you get the books icon (it is a pile of book on top of each other) how do you change it so it is in the game it self ?
i tried so many times and i have no clue what i am doing!!!!!

When you are downloading, save the file(s) to the stepmania songs folder (My Computer-->Local Disk (C:)-->Program files--->Stepmania--->Songs)
You make a file for the category the song is in, then you right click on the pile of books (its called a .zip file) and from the options select "extract here" and the files should be there. Now you can delete the .zip file and when you start up, the song(s) you downloaded should be there.
Also if the thing you downloaded has a red arrow then double click and a menu thing should pop up. Click the button that says finished and your finished.These are called SMZIP files and are made specially for stepmania and can be deleted once you press finish (Note:they will probably end up in their own folder)

The site has several other tutorials that I found helpful when installing certain songs, though most of my songs automatically transfered. Maybe you should just try a different song package.
