Anime lover and Japanese?!
Question: Just wonder if some people develop some kind of interest of learning Japanese after they watch some anime.
And which one you prefer sub , dub or none ?

I developed an interest in the Japanese language in middle school and tried teaching myself several times, but schooling and work always got in the way...so I spent my summers and winter breaks teaching myself. I have a good handle on the vocabulary, some sentence structure, but not too much on verb conjugation. I memorized the katakana and hiragana, but I barely know any Kanji...only some very basic ones, not over 100.
I also started reading about Japan and Japanese culture online in my spare time.

They have some lessons on there which are helpful.
I also prefer subbed anime. Also, most anime can only be seen subbed because it was never translated into English to begin with.
I live in japan and you wouldn't believe how much the Japanese people are into anime it is every where here. even the adults are into it kudos to you on learning the language it is a really great culture learn all you can...later dude....

i love subbed anime. Dubs are usually done badly. I plan on learning japanese in the summer.
Im learning japenese right now at school. well i am 11. ANYWAY i prefer sub. WHATS DUBBED is that like in english or somthing. well im still young.
Definitely.I am learning Japanese so I don't have to depend on unreliable subtitles.Plus its always fun to learn a new language.

I've been to Japan twice, once just long enough to switch airplanes and the other time for a few days short of five weeks; it would have been nice to have known more than thirty words and a few phrases then, but I don't expect to ever return there and see no reason to attempt to learn any Japanese.
I always prefer subtitled movies and programs over dubbed ones, no matter what languaqe is being translated. My Spanish is good enough that I can rent Mexican and Spanish films that haven't been subtitled or dubbed and have no problem following what is being said, but for any other language I need some translation assistance.
yup I'd definitely love to learn japanese, it's so cool language even without watching anime, and it would be awasome if i could watch anime and listen jrock songs and understand everything without subs, that would be so sugoii! ^^
