Gene Tunney v Archie Moore at lightheavyweight?!

Question: who wins and how?

Answers: who wins and how?

At light heavyweight I think few if any were superior to Archie Moore, the old mongoose was about as good as a 175 lb. boxer could be. Maybe guys like Ezzard Charles, Bob Fitzsimmons, Michael Moorer or Tunney (the four in history who had more success at heavyweight then Moore) could have taken Archie, but none of them ever had to fight a young Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano to succeed at heavyweight either, Archie had two of the heavy weight divisions very best blocking his success at the higher weight.

I think Archie would have held his own at 175 with any of them, but only God knows how he and Tunney would have matched up. As much as I would like to say Archie would have beaten Tunney, Tunney would have given Archie a lot more trouble than Durell did, and Archie barely survived that one.

I give the edge to Tunney by decision in an epic battle.

you took a wrong turn somewhere but most of the people in this section only talk about those wonderful Japanese cartoons
