Have they lost their minds casting Triple H as Thor in the Marvel comics Thor mo!

Question: It doesn't matter if he has the build and look unlike Arnie this guy can't act other than playing the henchmen of the main villain that gets beat up. What's next for this movie lets cast Jessica Simpson as Enchantress. Forget that she's the dumb blonde and not right for the part the guys will forget about that because she's going to be shown off in a corset showing off her breasts and trying to entice guys and be seductive. I really hope they rethink this because this is the biggest casting mistake for a super hero movie since Ben Afflick in the dreadful Daredevil.

I actually think, overall, that Marvel has done well with it's films. I didn't care for Daredevil either, but that has less to do with Ben Affleck and more to do with a poor story with tons of plot holes, and the terrible way in which they handled Electra. She's and ASSASSIN for crying out loud!

You have to remember that Hollywood is interested in putting butts in seats. That means popular people in the roles; no matter how dumb they seem to those of us who love the characters!

They know that Wrestling has a a huge following and all those fans will be clamoring to see this movie in addition to those who read Thor.

I don't think Thor is an especially popular character at this point in time so I doubt they are too worried about sticking to the cannon of the series.

They are probably going to gear Thor to be an all out action flick rather than a deep thinking, introspective movie about what it must be like to be a God in the world of mortals. They tried that with the Hulk, (which I loved!) and failed....sort of, I know a lot of people who really liked the Hulk!

I didn't know they were making a Thor movie, but to hear the casting news I'm not surprised. There is so much movie making potential in the comic book realm and yet they have nearly all been some of the worst movies made.
In my opinion the only ones that even came close to being the movies they should have been were the Xmen trilogy and the Punisher.
Daredevil, Elektra, all the Spider man's, The Hulk, have all sucked.
So casting Triple H is just par for the course on bad movie making. It's too bad.

I don't really see the problem. He's got the build. He can do his own stunts. He acts about 300 days a year in a character that has ranged from vindictive sociopath to fun-loving prankster to well-bred blueblood, so he's got skill as an actor.

This casting choice is the Baskin Robbins of ***: it sucks 31 different flavors. He wasn't terrible in Blade: Trinity, but playing a big, doofusy VAMPIRE thug isn't a big stretch for a big, doofusy thug. I just can't imagine him delivering the dialogue. The so-called "cerebral assassin" interjecting thys, thous, and thines, as well as the occasional Od's Blood, just isn't something I can wrap my mind around.
