What happened to the original Tom & Jerry?!
Question: I know the creator of Tom & Jerry has died. But the new fake Tom & Jerry are so stupid to watch, just not funny at all and the characters look a hell different then the original one. Why can't they just keep the original characters and just create new stories. What is so difficult about that?

I have to admit the originals were the best. I think they changed it because they think they are making it more modern but all they are doing is screwing around with a classic. Also i think that the creaters who died can think of much better stories than the modern one.

Well, they really are the same characters. They were just taken in a direction you don't care for.
Personally, I never liked Tom & Jerry. I thought they were all pretty dumb. I always preferred Bugs Bunny and other Warner Bros. cartoons. But even they have changed since the very beginning! In both how they were voiced and in how they were drawn!

As for why they never leave anything alone, money. They think they can make more money by trying to "update" their characters to fit what's "hip" now.
I agree that most of those older toons should be left alone!
As a kid I remember watching two different types of Tom and Jerrys. In one Tom was EVIL with extremely yellow eyes. In the other, he was more gentle. Perhaps I am thinking of these two different cycles. But this was in 1988 or so.
