I'm a Miyazaki fan. And I most definitely do know who Joe Hisaishi is!! He's an awsome composer and does fantastic music for Miyazaki's films. My favorites are Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away. I also really like Howl's.
I do. He has brown hair and he is like really a nice character. I don't like him that much, but i am aware of his presence. :)
I won't lie to you. I thought I was a Miyazaki fan, but did not know who Joe Hisaishi. It's like asking Tim Burton fans if they know Danny Elfman.

he does the music, but he certainly doesn;t get the credit he deserves

Of course I do! He's the guy who composes the amazing soundtracks to all of Miyazaki's films ^^
