There is an old series called The Night Stalker with Darren McGavin. One of the best TV shows ever...well thought out plot and very very suspenseful.
It's not animated...but hope it helps.
my favorite horror flick is 'Rose Mary's Baby' which is pretty suspenseful I would say.
