1) Gaara can control the sand because of the Shukaku not to mentian his own chakra itself. Gaara has his own supply of sand for himself that he always carries around with him on his,back. He does this for a reason because the sand has blood from his victam with it,also in the sand is Gaara's own chakra that he uses,by using his own chakra Gaara is able to control the sand more freely. Gor Gaara he only has a limated supply of san that he can use,since it is limated he uses the earth itself.he use the minnerals in the ground and refines them into somthing he can use as sand. Tis is only if he need to,other then that for Gaara he has a bettr chance of using his gourd. As I said because Gaara hs his own sand he can weild it more esily for his attacks and well as strengh and sped increse and defense.
2) Temai carries a large fan on her back called Kyodai Sensu (Gigantic Fan),When needed, the fan can unfold and create a large cyclonic wind. Temari is able to imbue her chakra into the wind, which allows her to hold the victim as the wind slices them to pieces.
As for Kankuro he has three puppets: Karasu,Kuroari,and Sanshouo. Each one hi different Karasu is used fo offense,Kuroari is used ofr defense (whci both are sometimes both are used together)and Sanshouo is used for defense.

1) Gaara has the ability to control sand thanks to Shukaku. Gaara's gourd contains sand that has been mixed with the blood of his victims and enhanced with chakra. Although Gaara can control any sand, and can even make sand himself, using the minerals in the ground, he can control the sand in his gourd best. With his own sand, Gaara always has his supply and his attacks also increase in both speed and power.
2) Temari has a large fan whereas Kankurou has his 3 puppets [Karasu, Kuroari and Sanshouo] which were originally created by Akasuna no Sasori.
