Echo sound in audio in 'Ghost in the Shell' on CartoonNetwork?!

Question: I watch now and then 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig' on CartoonNetwork, and the audio sounds kind of funny, like there is an echo or they are talking into a can. This is for all dialog regardless of who is speaking, and I get it on two different tv sets. Is this part of the show, or do I have a technical problem somewhere?

I think that it is part of the show. I believe they are trying to give the effect that most of the characters have prosthetic bodies, and are partly or mostly mechanical.

It's suppose to be that way because they have prosthetic bodies and if I know what you're talking about they are talking to each other through some sort of futuristic private chat between each other using there cyber brains. Kind of like a telephone except it's built in to their cyber brains like I said.
