What happens to the brothers at the end of fullmetal alchemist?!
Question: Well, at the end of the show they are separated in different worlds, Edward is trapped in our world and Alphonse is in the world of alchemy. Alphonse gets his body back but it is his younger body and he lost all of his memories from the time that he was in the suit. If you watch the movie though, they end up together in the human world (our world), and Al gets his memories back.

In the series, Ed is trapped at the other world with his dad. While Al is in the real world. But if you haven't watch the movie yet, Edward went outside the OTHER world by alchemy, So he get to meet winry and the others,,(well not all) but more events at the movie makes Al remember the journey they have took together as brothers. So at the end,,Edward was going to break the gate so that no one will interupt the REAL world. Ed (in the other world) thought that Al was left behind in the real world..And to know Al hid at the armor (which he had been soul-transferred to) And Ed thought that the spirit of Al has not yet been deleted from that armor and gladly to know that Al creeped in order to join Ed at their new journey..
