Yet ANOTHER question for anime fans.....?!
Question: have you ever known anybody who made fun of you for watching anime....like they say things like..."that stuff's gay" or "im not watching that crap" or "id rather put my puppy in a blender then watch that" {---ok maybe not that part....anyway they say allllllllllll that and them before you know it, they're telling you all about this cool cartoon they watched on adult swim or some other late night show....my Hubbie did that with Naruto.....no matter how much i coxed him...he wouldnt watch it!!!one day he watched it to pass the time and now he makes sure hes home from work in time to watch it....lol tell me about your experience and what did you say? did you make fun of them or say "Thats great heres another one you may like!!!" i made fun of my husband }:-P

ya me and my mom get into fights about stuff like that she always says that my anime are stupid and that i get all worked up and emotional over them and so on, but the stupid thing is .....is that i caught her watching spongebob one day, and man was i LMAO so after that she started watching peach girl with me and she actually like it lol so she dont make fun of them as much as she use to.
Yeah that happens all the time but I never got anyone to watch it. I was like that though my boyfriend tried to get me to watch Naruto for like a few months and I refused because I said it was just a DBZ rip off then when I finally broke down and watched it I fell in love with it. Now I am so obsessed with the show
I get that guff every so often. I pay them no mind. You are correct in that if you let them watch it on their own, they seem to become fans. My brother was that way with Naruto. If they do become fans, it was all their idea (they forget about your efforts). And if they don't become fans........it's their loss!!!!!
Yeah the people at my school say that cartoons are stupid and all which is wierd cause they talk about Disney channel all the time (in 7th grade), it kind of bugs me that they make fun of me cause they push it till i have to yell at them until i am red in the face (oops!) Anyway i never got any of my friends or family to watch some anime, and it sucks cause they are missing out too!
I get that a lot now, but the funny part was that I used to be that person. I never said, "that's stupid" or "that's gay" but I definitely didn't like it. Then, weirdly enough, I just started watching Inuyasha again to try and get into it, and I just started liking it! I don't know, but I think the anime fairy must have hit me over the head.
Now I like more anime/manga than even my friend who introduced me to it!
i actully got that puppy one twice! but for different reasons..... anyho but you know what! i hang around only weridos cuz i feel safe with the strange =P
my mum doesnt understand why i watch anime or read manga but its so much better then normal tv some times.
that happens all the time. mostly bcos they think animes are just another silly cartoon. i never force them to try one cos this is their punishment for all that teasing(this is their loss)
Um well when I was younger I was never really made fun of it that much but it was really annoying. There'd be people talking about how stupid people like that were and there I was drawing anime in my notebook. They started calling anime fans freaks. I wanted to slap one of them but that was the only unreasonable thing about them so I didn't. Since I'm in Japan it's not really...That big a deal but, it's not exactly considered normal to be an otaku. So...They're are people who hate otakus alot here too. I'm not sure I think Naruto's english version isn't that good but it's still a good anime. Somehow I never can really get non-anime fans to watch anime D:
