Is anime popular among black people?!
Question: all my black friends never paid attention to anime and don't know what the big deal is about it, and they won't even bother to let me show the one episode of anything, I had Fullmetal Alchemist in mind.

i LOVE anime! ever since 3rd grade. :}
my best friend noah is always talking about bleach and death note..he even invited me to spend the night and watch the naruto hundo with him last summer...and he's full black.
i know a girl named robin who loves anime and manga and is full black.
my sister's friend brandon, who is full black, loves anime as well.
so yes, some of us do, just not as many as White ppl.
i have black friends who love anime, i have friends of all races who love anime, its personal preference more than anything.

I've seen only one black person in the anime club at my school. I guess anime isn't popular for black people...
speaking for myself i like anime and your group of friends is only a very small population of black people.

Anime is something that you either like or hate. And many people haven't been exposed to many of the really good anime and so they lump ALL anime as the stupid, mindless drivel many of the little kids see - cough* cough* Pokemon.
I'm black and I LOVE anime, and FMA is one of my favorite shows, but most kids at my school that watch anime are white.
My best bud is black and she's as obsessed as we are. It doesn't have anything to do with that, because my other friends(they're white) refuse to let me show them anything even relating to anime. Its too bad, cause they're missing out. :(

Its not just black people, its the people who see anime as cartoons which means they see it as for little kids. THey want to be seen as adults so they don't want people to think they are acting childish for watching anything that is consider for children. Most anime people have seen are geared towards little kids and once again these same people don't realize that not all anime is ment for little children and not all are childish like Pokemon. I get poked at all the time for watching anime especially at my age and so does my friends (who a few are black). I just learned to accept those friends who are never going to watch anime and only speak about anime to those friends who do watch it.
Im black and I love anime. it's a break from reality shows and all the other nonsense on tv. actually all i watch on tv these days is the daily show, madtv, cnn and bleach. my black friends hate anime because they see it and automatically think its a cartoon, not knowing there is a differece between the two. I also tried showing my black friends anime and they called me childish.

well..... most of the people in my school who like anime are asian.
and the rest are black.
so i would say yes.....
