Why is it that a lot of Bleach fans seem to be down on Orihime?!
Question: Rukia's my fav, I admit, but I run into a lot of forums and whatnot that say they can't stand Orihime. Why?
Well I think she's hilarious and has a good heart. And her powers are bad @$$..I want those hairpins haha..

I'm a die-hard Ichi-Ruki shipper but
I like Orihime. She's fabulous, her powers are amazing, she has a nice personality, and a bit eccentric but it all makes her very cute.
She is in the long list of excellent women portrayed in Bleach (Tell me, is there any female in Bleach who is useless? NONE, i tell you-NONE!! I(^0^)I
Many of my frens start to hate Orihime becuz many people are obsessed over Orihime's feelings to Ichigo. These OrihimexIchigo fans are very vocal(and annoying) about it too. They would lambast IchiRuki shippers as if it was blasphemy and Orihime-sama is the best thing that has ever happened to Bleach totally denying Rukia's role and undermining IchiRuki. The fans retaliate and Orihime gets the fire.
This is most obvious in the recent poll. Rukia is still number 2, ranking after Hitsugaya and Ichigo is number three. Orihime is number 8-they are putting her so far from Ichigo (so they don't get to be in the same page lol)
but hey, I have a feeling that Orihime will be the catalyst to IchiRuki..orz
It is because they all think that Inoue is the rival of Rukia to Ichigo's heart.....And almost all the fans go for IchigoxRukia....
And (I think) because she's not very useful at all.... Though I like her power..
And she is dumb at times.....I even think she's funny...

It could be just because she seems to be 'helpless' quite alot but I don't see anything wrong with that. Of course, it's a manga all about fighting, so her lack of activity in that department is more likely to show up.
It's quite important to remember though that she did get taught a little self defence by Tatsuki :)
She's in the manga obviously because she has relevance within the plots and story lines, so you can't forget that, otherwise she wouldn't be in it, or they would have made her a fighter too. So obviously how she is, is how they wanted her.
But of course, this is the beauty of creating a story, some characters are liked and some aren't; it's down to the reader to choose. I guess not too many people identify with her as much as the other characters.
I like her though :)
i actually i like orihime more than rukia. i want to try one of those weird food creations she makes xD. shes like a 2nd or 3rd tsunade with those healing powers and great power
well to be honest..i used to not like her too..but when i look back..she is a strong willed character..after losing his brother and all..she wants to help..i admit..but sometimes she just gets in the way..like urahara said..shes not fit for battle..yeah shes hillarious too..especially when it comes to the food she eats..like chocolate bean curd or something like that..haha
probably one of the main reasons that people are a bit down on orihime is bcoz they only want ichigo and rukia to be together..like i do..and cant stand the competition cause its pretty obvious that orihime likes ichigo..and it all depends on ichigo to choose who he wants..unlike the usual ichiruki pairing, neither ichigo nor rukia has ever shown any feelings for each other..and thats what got everyone all excited about..they wanted to see results between the two..
but what the heck??its not like its a romance anime right??so we cant expect much..haha
ugh i can't stand her >_< u ask why? because i've never liked anything like that, she is bitchy looking, sooo girly, whiny, sometimes act so annoyingly retarded and stuff like that, I just hate hate hate HATE her and u orihime fans can give me as much thumb downs as u wish, I'll still hate her anyway...

okay i personaly like orihime and not just because of her big **** she has a great heart and shes someone u would like to protect and care for on the other hand to answer the question on the forms thing everyone fears that ichigo will end up with orihime thats the only reason they hate her i think that u r all crap her powers at this time may be lacking but im sure her true power has yet to be seen , in the issue of love interest im going for rukia but if by some chance ichigo goes for orihime i ll root for her all the way and anyone who hates on her well thats just u
Maybe people are going after Orihime because she doesn't appear that smart and then maybe people immediately think she's an easy target for insults or something.
i don't like orihime but its not because of her feelings towards ichigo, it's because she's a burden. its not just urahara that says she's not suited for battles but also uryu and chad yet she still insists on battling.
uryu in the soul society arc had to protect her a lot and when she wandered off on her own she almost got her and uryu caught.
now she's even more of a burden because everyone has to go to hueco mundo to save her because she was captured by aizen. actually she wasn't even captured by them, they just tricked her into going there on her on free will.
but i'll admit she's not totally useless and she is needed because even she has some helpful abilities like that ability to reverse injuries like they never happened and she can erase the Hōgyoku
