Definitely "Ray". Its about an unlicensed female surgeon who has the ability to look through human bodies and see what ails them. She was raised in a human organ farm; when she was a kid, her eyes were taken (yikes!). But afterward, she was rescued and given new eyes (that's why she can see through people) and of course became a doctor. Stimulates your brain and there's just the right amount of action. Cute female lead, too.
Maybe Ayashi no Ceres. Technically, it is a shoujo, but it has action and it'll make you think. And Aya Mikage is definitely easy on the eyes.
