Fantastic Four ???!

Question: Ok, so I'm watching the first Fantastic Four movie, and I just saw where Reed told Ben that he would do everything he could to turn him back into himself. And I just got curious, in the comic books (or other Fantastic Four media), was Reed Ricards, or anyone else for that matter, ever able to turn Thing back into Ben in his regular human form? Stupid question, I know, but I just got curious if he ever became normal again.

In the comics, there was one time Reed did invent a machine that could turn Ben into the Thing when he wanted to but during a fight Ben had to sacrifice it to save the world. He's been orange and rocky ever since to my knowledge.

yes later on

in the 2nd movie he switches powers when other people. therefor looking normal, but having a different power.

ps. Jessica Alba is hot.

I don't know. I've never even seen Fantastic 3

no he doesnt become normal until the new movie fanstastic 4 3

No it was adjusted for the movie..more dramatic and it had to give the movie its plot because Dr. Doom uses the machine later in the movie to disarm powers of the fantastic four. So they had to throw that in there at the beginning of the movie so there was a reason for Reed to build it.

i dont think so
i think he kinda just excepted it

[ this is my first answer as a level 2 er lol im so happy ]

Yes and no.

Reed Richards was unable to turn Ben Grimm (AKA, The Thing) back into his human form, but on several occassions, Ben reverted to his human form (in one case, he went to another planet and was able to change from one form to the other).

On a sidenote: Now that they've released movies for the Hulk, Ghost Rider, Wolverine (in X-Men, but he has a solo film coming), and Spiderman, I'd like to see them make a "New Fantastic Four" movie. In the comics, the original Four were thought dead, so the aforementioned superheroes teamed up to form the "new" FF. Short-lived storyline, but not bad.

yeah, in the comics books, the thing has been turned back to human so many times, many people have lost count..they always find a reason to turn him back though it's crazy

yes there have been several times in which he could change back to himself at least once he lost his powers altogether and had to wear an armor suit of himself

I remember reading that the reason for all the difficulties Reed had w/ finding a cure for Ben, was that deep down, subconsciously Ben had finally come to terms w/ his condition.
