Why did dragonball GT have such crappy fights?!

Question: Ok so i know GT has an awful story but if it had good fights like Z did i wouldnt have minded that much...but all the fights just result in Ki-blasts which is boring like ssj4 goku vs 17...goku knew in the end that 17 grew stronger with every blast so what did he do? continue blasting him then he used a 10x kamaahmaha wave ?_? yh duno how its spelt lol but were the animators just lazy or something?
