In Bleach, season 1, why does Rukia put on such an act at Ichigo's high scho!
Question: She pretends to be a goody-two-shoes (don't get me wrong, it's hilarious and I love Rukia) but I wonder why she milks it so much LOL.. wonder if she has some inner yearning to be like that..she could play so many roles in the World of the Living that she probably never would have been able to in the Soul Society where people expected her to act a certain way, as nobility.

I think rukia acts that way for several reasons:
1. She finds it funny to make Ichigo look bad compared to her
2. When you think about it she does seem much like a good-2-shoes naturally
3. Cause she needs to get out of class with Ichigo to kill hallows and teachers always treat the goody-2-shoes better (We all know they do get treated better!)
And I know there are probably a ton more but I really can't think of anymore at the moment. Oh well, hoped this helped!

she wants to mess around, let loose, and just act differently since, as you said, shes expected to act a certain way in the Soul Society.

There could be many reasons, but I think it's mainly because she only read about the acts of humans in books and never actually came in contact with anyone other than Ichigo. So her perception about a normal human school girl is that of a good girl. It also helps her to avoid any kind of suspicions and get along with most of he people around her.
Maybe because she can get out of trouble easier and people might believe her easily. Also because she doesn't want anyone to be suspicious. And I think she likes making Ichigo look bad or annoying him in some way (His reactions are HILARIOUS... XD) ^^ Well... that's what I think...
