Read Arm of Kannon, last I saw it was on volume9. Strong violence, nudity, sex, but that doesn't define the story since its not hentai. Likeable characters, interesting plotline.
There's also Remote, which is a great detective story, one of the best analytic manga ever. Realistic yet brilliant!
Onemanga is good but so is Mangavolume (search for the name). Anime on Realitylapse and torrents. The 2 mentioned above though you might have to buy. Tokyopop has licensed them but if you buy- they're worth every penny!

MW (Osamu Tezuka)- a dark, disturbing portrait of a young man without a conscience
Blade of the Immortal (Hirokai Samura)- beautifully done samurai fantasy
Satsuma Gishiden- violent samurai history
Berserk (Kentaro Miura)- extremely graphic fantasy set in an anarchic world
All these series are currently in print in translation in the US.
