michiru was a sailor b4 haruka was. haruka was a racer. michiru saved haruka from a monster.haruka saw michiru transform into a sailor. then michiru told haruka that she was a sailor but haruka didnt want to be one. i think the episode where it they show there past is Bonds of Destiny - Related by Destiny episode 106 i think
