Question: ...hmm..maybe before he met madara he's not. i think he was just influenced badly by madara and regarding their clan's history of "killing your sibling" thing all added up made itachi that evil. since he met madara uchiha and knew and learned the secrets of the sharingan from mangekyou to it's ultimate secret, he craved for power, a power that could even surpass what madara achieved ending up killing his whole clan leaving sasuke (for his "spare"). and that made him sooo evil.
