I know there are 13 or 14 episodes! Can't remember but i think it is 13.
Considering the fact that i have no idea what OVA means...actually i think i know what the words are (original video animation...I THINK, i dont know!!!) but anyways. i will say one thing.
When you get to episode 10...there is also another episode that is 10.5. Of course it is between 10 and 11...so after you watch episode 10...watch episode 10.5 because it actually does have "information" as you would say in that episode.
If you want a website to find where all the episodes are (including 10.5) then go to: anime6.org.
Go there and just scroll down to the "E"s and click elfen lied. then click the episode you want to watch and voila! i love that anime series, enjoy!

It's 13 episodes and 1 ova that's called 10.5 it's about what happens between 10 and 11.That's the number for the show no matter what.There is no word about doing a second season.
