Hi in the X-Men comic book, did Magneto did he join the X-Men?!

yes. sometime in the 80s, Magneto decided to turn over a new leaf, and naturally Prof X supported that. However, the Prof had something wrong with his heart, I think it was, and collapsed on the eve of Magneto's trial. Thinking he was dying, he demanded Magnus (Magneto) take care of his students. The Prof was saved, taken off planet by Lilandra & the Starjammers, but his demand stuck.
Naturally, a lot of people had problems with that.
He was also a poor teacher in some ways, and the New Mutants ran wild under his heavy-handed rule (out of concern for their well-being, not that he was being deliberately cruel); he was trying to wrap them in cotton rather than leading them on missions.
Starts in 1984 with New Mutants #21 & Uncanny X-Men #188, and ends about 1989-90.

I am not sure if Magneto is currently a member or not but in the past not only has Magneto been a member but for a short while he was the headmaster due to Xavier and the old school X-Men being unavailable. Magneto is not the only X-Men enemy who has been an instructor at Xaviers school for the gifted.
I don't collect comics anymore and sold my old collection so I can't go back and tell you who else has been instructors.
No men its just there to cover up his belt to let know that he's a mutant too. is the pic cartoon? then dont belive it
there was a short time where magneto joined the x-men and was even the headmaster of the school at professor xaviers request when he died, but the other x-men never really trusted him and he wasn't in the books for long, most of his work with the x-men was being the head of the school for the new mutants, but they too rebelled against magneto and he soon wnet back to his old ways. later it was reveiled that the only reason that he even wanted to change was because of an experiment by moria mactaggart where she changed something in his brain that made him want to do good. but i never remembered seeing him with an X anywhere on his uniform
