Give Higurashi a shot if liked the violence and somewhat disturbing nature of Elfen Lied. It also has some romance going on- but that like everything else in this series is really, really screwed up.
Try Denou Coil or Boogiepop Phantom if you liked Lain.
Also, give Saikano a shot since you seem to like stories around girls who have unique powers/strengths. (like Lain, Noir, GSG).

i love olve love death note. also tenjo tenge and ergo proxy....i think u'd like ergo proxy if u catch it on TV ever (the plot is hard to follow tho if u come in the middle of the series....trust me on this one.)
